The Road to Cultural Competence
Cultural Competence is not something we “achieve,” but is a process of gaining more and more understanding. Everyone is at different places on this “road” to cultural competence. Some people have given it a lot of thought and practice, and some are brand new to the idea. But we are on this learning journey together, and we all benefit when we share perspectives, experiences, and moments of new understanding. We hope you are excited to learn and develop together, and to become an even more effective and positive workforce for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
